MIRUS Solution Sells Itself to Dewey's
Competitors Dumped after Capabilities Comparison
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In contrast to the relationship-driven sales business, MIRUS Restaurant
Solutions got its newest contract, Cincinnati-based Dewey's Pizza, based
entirely on a consultant's analysis of four competing business
intelligence offerings.
Dave Bennett, President and CEO of MIRUS said, "We never met the
consultant or the folks at Dewey's before. Our first contact was in
email. They emailed us. That has never happened before."
With a reputation for great pizza and all things cool, Dewey's was all
business about this deal. No wonder. The 12-unit company was growing,
but its existing enterprise system barely met needs and didn't allow for
expansion. The company sought business intelligence with flexible
reporting as well as an origination hub for all the business process
data.
Bill Wooten, controller for Dewey's Pizza said, "The data from
our register system was there but if we wanted to create our own reports
or generate a modified report we had to call in a programmer. There was
no such thing as ownership or 'instant'."
In response to Dewey's three-page request for information, MIRUS
provided 25 problem-solving pages that included advantages of the
flexible and empowering, on-demand MIRUS Exception-Based Management
Reporting tool.
"Basically, everybody told us their product could do what we wanted, but
only the MIRUS reporting tool was at a level of user-friendliness that
we could control ourselves," said Jason Busch, Dewey's IT
consultant.
Bennett said, "There's a lot of value in the notion that none of
Dewey's people has to touch the data before the president and CEO look
at it. That frees up managers to focus on more important operational
issues."
Busch added, "And while MIRUS was neither the most expensive nor
the cheapest, they were the only ones who gave us a very clear picture
of what our total cost would be."
